Life is a funny thing at times… other times it is just fucking painful.
Things start improving a little… WHAM!! Your wife leaves you for another man.
You try and rebuild your self-confidence… WHAM!!! People you thought were your friends no longer want anything to do with you because you aren’t “happy” anymore.
You meet a wonderful woman and begin feeling karmatic justice… WHAM!!!! Your job goes absolutely nuts with travel and you never get to see her.
You negotiate more compensation for the crazy job… WHAM! WHAM! WHAM!!! Your little sister gets gang-raped by a state senator’s son and his friends… DNA evidence magically disappears and slander law suits start getting discussed if “you go to the press.”
You finally start feeling like you’ve turned the corner with your little sister… WHAM!! How about a fucking speeding ticket to liven the mood?
Fuck this… seriously.
Well, no matter what, this girl patiently (well, ok… maybe not totally patiently but still) waits for us to get our asses back together! Cuz that’s how much she loves ya!

I don’t understand the mindset of the males who do this sort of thing–and I’ve had a lot of conversations with them (I was a public defender for six years)

Painful as it is, you have to admit to yourself… did your sister perhaps bring this upon herself? Even a little bit? Was she wanton, or flirtatious? Did she say “no” at the last possible moment?
